Adjustment of Status Timeline
Adjusting your status, like most government-based applications, will take some time. After filing and submitting the Form I-485 (Application to Adjust Status) and related forms, your I-485 processing time can take anywhere from eight to fourteen months. The USCIS will initially respond by mailing a Notice of Action, Form I-797C, which usually takes about two to three weeks after filing.
